Lab Analyst, Midrand

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12

Chemistry or related Diploma/Degree

At least 5 years lab analyst experience

Understanding stats rules relating to a lab

HPLC experience

Own transport

Willing and able to work shifts (7pm to 7am - weekly rotation)

Duties and Responsibilities

Calibration of apparatus

Maintain the QMS in lab according to Good Documentation, Manufacturing and Laboratory Practices.

Prepare reagents according to SOP

Document relevant info: reference method, measured pH, temperature

Prepare raw data according to ALCOA

Ensure productivity in the lab by sticking to lead times

Ensure lab operates safely

Workstations must be kept tidy

Health and Safety policy must be followed

Verify calibration date and available standards

Participate in laboratory safety procedures as required by management.

Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management or the employer

Conduct analytical tasks:

Chromatographic analysis

Dissolution testing

IR testing

UV testing

Titrations

Physical tests using appropriate apparatus

Validation of analytical methods

Method development and validation in collaboration with senior analysts and laboratory management

Completing of applicable logbooks in the laboratory
