Commercial Contracts Administrator
Midrand Purpose of the Job To support the Commercial team in drafting, reviewing, and managing customer agreements while ensuring compliance with pricing structures, risk frameworks, and operational standards. The role plays a key part in contract lifecycle management, negotiation preparation, and maintaining commercial governance processes.

The role plays a key part in contract lifecycle management, negotiation preparation, and maintaining commercial governance processes.
Key Responsibilities Contract Drafting & Negotiation Support
- Assist in drafting and reviewing customer agreements including ECM, hardware, rental, and service contracts.
- Support senior team members in contract negotiation preparation and risk assessment.
- Review contracts for commercial and legal risks in line with organisational standards.
- Collaborate with operational and functional teams to define service level agreements.
- Facilitate cross-departmental engagement to support commercial contract requirements.
- Prepare back-to-back agreements and supporting legal documentation.
- Monitor and review active contracts to ensure compliance and continuous service delivery.
- Track contract profitability, scope adherence, and potential leakages.
- Manage contract renewals, escalations, and pricing adjustments in line with agreed terms.
- Ensure contracts do not lapse and are renewed within required timelines.
- Maintain contract repository and ensure accurate documentation control.
- Support risk reviews including penalties, liabilities, and contractual obligations.
- Review tender documents including terms, conditions, payment structures, and legal clauses.
- Support preparation of responses to bids and commercial submissions.
- Respond to customer queries, clarifications, and contract-related requests.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Provide updates during escalations and ensure timely communication.
- Support negotiation processes to finalise agreements with customers.
- Compile and present commercial performance reports for management review.
- Support preparation of documentation for governance, board, and executive reporting.
- Assist in monthly service and contract performance reporting.
- Provide accurate and timely commercial information to senior stakeholders.
- Manage shared commercial inbox and ensure timely responses.
- Support backlog clearance and ad hoc contract-related tasks.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team collaboration.
- Support training, development, and performance improvement processes.
- Contract negotiation and review efficiency – 65%
- Contract maintenance and compliance – 10%
- Tendering support – 10%
- Customer administration and support – 5%
- Provision of commercial reporting and information – 5%

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Law, Business Management, Commerce, or related field.
- 1+ years’ experience in a commercial, contracts, or business administration environment.
- Experience in a customer-facing role preferred.
- Exposure to international or multi-stakeholder business environments advantageous.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with document and contract management systems.
- Strong commercial and business acumen.
- Knowledge of contract law and negotiation principles.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of financial and commercial principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure.
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking ability.
- Office-based role with use of standard office equipment.
- Occasional travel may be required (car, public transport, or air).
- Must be able to meet strict reporting and submission deadlines (daily, weekly, monthly).
