Duties
Manage and execute full payroll processing on a monthly basis using PaySpace
Perform payroll reconciliations and validate input data to ensure accuracy
Handle statutory submissions including EMP201, EMP501 (bi-annual and annual) and related tax compliance requirements
Ensure compliance with SARS, UIF, BCEA, COIDA, SDL, and other statutory legislation
Maintain accurate payroll records while ensuring confidentiality and data protection compliance
Support internal and external payroll audits and implement corrective actions where required
Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies efficiently and effectively
Provide payroll support, guidance, and advice to employees and management
Monitor legislative and system changes impacting payroll and ensure timely updates
Drive continuous improvement in payroll processes and system optimisation
Job experience and Skills Required Qualifications
Matric (Grade 12)
NQF Level 7 qualification (Degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or related field advantageous)
Experience
Minimum 8 years’ payroll experience
At least 2 years’ hands‑on experience working on PaySpace
Proven experience managing full payroll processes within South Africa
Strong exposure to payroll audits and compliance environments
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of South African payroll legislation (BCEA, PAYE, UIF, COIDA, SDL)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong working knowledge of PaySpace payroll system
Experience with SARS submissions and tax source codes
Payroll reconciliation and reporting expertise
Skills and Competencies
Strong numerical accuracy and analytical ability
High attention to detail with a strong compliance mindset
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
