Introduction We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager to be based in Johannesburg and Durban. The Business Development Manager supports the growth of the business by identifying new opportunities, generating leads, and assisting in converting prospects into clients. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional looking to develop skills in sales, client relationship management, and strategic growth.
Primary Responsibilities for the Role
Identify and research potential clients, markets, and business opportunities.
Generate and qualify leads through cold calling, networking, and digital outreach.
Support senior team members in developing and executing sales strategies.
Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, and quotations.
Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients.
Maintain and update CRM systems with accurate pipeline and client data.
Attend client meetings, demos, and industry events.
Conduct market and competitor analysis.
Track sales activities and report on progress against targets.
Key performance indicators
Number of deals closed.
Number of leads generated and qualified.
Conversion rate from lead, to opportunity, to sale.
Pipeline and revenue growth.
Desired Skills and Qualities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Sales and negotiation abilities.
Proactive and self-motivated attitude.
Willingness to learn and grow in a sales environment.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Minimum Qualification and Experience Requirements
Matric, higher qualification is advantageous.
3 years experience in sales and business development.
Exposure to Zoho CRM system. Salesforce and HubSpot are advantageous.
