Data Manager– Insurance Analytics&Business Insights, Midrand

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality reporting, analytics, and actionable insights across the insurance value chain, contributing to enhanced business performance across underwriting, claims, pricing, sales, retention, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of business reporting, analytics, and performance insights across the insurance function.

Analyse trends and translate complex datasets into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.

Support decision‑making across pricing, underwriting, claims, retention, and sales performance.

Develop dashboards, reports, and business intelligence solutions to improve operational and commercial performance.

Monitor key performance indicators and identify opportunities for optimisation and growth.

Collaborate with business stakeholders to provide data‑driven recommendations and strategic insights.

Requirements

Degree in

Actuarial Science, Data Science, Statistics , or a related quantitative field.

4–7+ years of experience in analytics, reporting, or business insights within the

insurance industry .

Strong technical capability in

SQL, Power BI, and Excel .

Proven experience working with

insurance data and performance reporting .

Strong commercial acumen with the ability to provide

insights, not just reporting .

Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Demonstrated experience leading, managing, and mentoring a team of at least 4 individuals.
