Summary The construction engineer to oversee projects from the start through to completion. This includes, but not limited to planning, budgeting, making key decisions, ensuring that construction projects fall within the proposed budget, and ensuring that all duties are executed and completed on time.The successful candidate will be involved in the planning, design, and implementation of water and sanitation infrastructure projects across the public and private sectors Responsibilities and Duties The project manager is required to handle all aspects of project coordination and execution. He / She will be responsible for ensuring the project objectives are met in terms of quality, timelines and budget. Additionally, the project manager will be responsible for client management, which will include regular communication and ensuring all commercial commitments are met.Overseeing and guiding the design team. Preparing and presenting weekly and monthly reports progress reports to the management team and clients. Ensuring compliance with the statutory requirements for water and wastewater construction projects. Overall contract/project management, attendance of progress meetings, preparation of payment certificates, dealing with contractual claims.Facilitate approval of drawings by all relevant bodies Conduct site inspection and ensure that safety and quality standards are adhered to. Developing detailed project plans (MS Project), scopes, objectives and managing project progress to meet deadlines and milestones Ensuring resource availability and allocationDelivering every project on time within budget and scope. Client management and clear written and verbal communication skill are a must Strong commercial understanding to ensure financial condition of the project is accurately monitored and reported Ability to manage a number of projects simultaneouslyProblem solving skill and risk anticipation a must Engineering Contracts Management (FIDIC, NEC, JBCC, GCC) Client Satisfaction Coordinate internal resources and contractors for flawless execution of project Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within the budget and scope and of an extremely high qualityUse appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders Implement the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and any recommendations from audits carried out within the project environmentDesired Experience&Qualification 5 Years experience in water and sanitation construction projects 5 years experience in project management with a good understanding of project execution, preferably with some exposure to engineering contracting models Basic level MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Power Point skills requiredIntermediary MS Excel and MS Project skills required A bachelors degree (Bsc. Or B.Tech) or similar in the built environment (Civil, Construction Management) Must be able to manage financial budgets Proven track record in managing construction projects in water and sanitation
