Position Regional Field Sales Manager

Reporting To National Field Sales Manager

Scope of Responsibility The Regional Field Sales Manager is responsible for managing the field sales operations in a territory or geographic region, directing the activities of the 3rd party sales and merchandising provider’s resources to deliver net sales, distribution, volume growth, forward share, and market share targets.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

Building relationships with key contacts (e.g., operations and store managers) and providing customers with objective and trustworthy analysis to ensure they carry an appropriate portfolio of Colgate products with optimal exposure at the store level.

Conducting regular business reviews and following up on sales activity, new products, customer service, receivables, and claims.

Developing and executing customer plans that profitably increase sales volume, distribution, and market share.

Working with logistics to plan, analyze, and forecast customer needs, following up on orders to ensure on‑time and complete delivery, and prioritizing customer requirements when a product is unavailable.

Monitoring activity at store level and communicating competitive, category, and product information (e.g., pricing, assortment, promotion, placement) to customer marketing and management so they can proactively respond with new strategies and tactics.

Tracking KPI’s and taking action to improve performance.

Level Of Education Required

Minimum requirement of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification; an honours degree is preferred.

Level Of Experience Required

Previous work experience of 5+ years in regional field operations within the FMCG industry.

Previous experience managing a field sales team and 3rd party sales agents.

Essential Skills/Competencies

Trade understanding, relationship building, field execution, customer and service provider engagement, selling and negotiation.

Promotional effectiveness, business and financial analysis, supply‑chain perspective and collaboration, category management, consumer and shopper insight, cross‑organizational collaboration, people‑management, and coaching.

Good communication skills and computer literacy (Microsoft Office).

Clean driving licence.
