Main Purpose of the Role:

To implement data and information management operating standards and procedures such as data quality, data lifecycle management, meta data, and data privacy and protection as set out in the relevant data governance frameworks, policies, standards, processes, and procedures. To support the business in understanding how data is collected, stored, used and deleted using tools and methodologies to improve the adoption of information management and accountability.To implement processes, policies, and guidelines for administering the banks data in compliance with policy and/or regulatory obligations. To maintain and improve data governance, management and security maturity levels within the bank to support reliable decision making, appropriate data usage and protection thereof.Role Responsibilities

Data Quality

Ensuring data is accurate, complete, consistent, timely, and fit for its intended purpose through processes of monitoring and reporting to improve business decisions, and outcome. Metadata

Create and maintain metadata for your data domain. Collaborate with business stewards to ensure all fields are captured correctly for the benefit of all data users. Data Culture

Embrace, practice, and promote behaviours that support trusted, responsible, and effective data use. Data Access and Protection

Maintain security controls and procedures that validates user access permissions across data domains as necessary and appropriate. Data Definition

Review and maintain the authoritative definition(s) that are stored within the data domain and shared across the Bank. Collaborate with business stewards to ensure regulatory reporting is alignment with definitions. Data Sharing and Offshoring

Ensuring that all the data that is transferred, stored, or processed outside the Banks infrastructure is safeguarded by the 3rd party. Information Asset Register

Provide a single, authoritative inventory of critical processes and the linked data assets and systems to ensure ownership and accountability. Data Retention and Disposal

Provide business benefits by reducing storage costs. Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance and enhancing data security by limiting the exposure of sensitive information. Data Governance Compliance

Attend project and committee meetings as the data domain subject matter expert to ensure embedment of best practices and alignment with business goal. Role Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in data management role. Proficiency in MS SQL. Experience in analysing and managing data advantageous. Serve as the data domain subject matter expert to support the business data stewards byproviding guidance, data analysis and interpretation, and training.Apply data management best practices in accordance with the data governance policies to data domain(s) area of responsibility. Assist in the identification, definition and population of the correct and required business metadata and maintain business glossary. Maintain data quality rules, reference data, records and documents register, customer definitions, where applicable.Assist with compliance with internal policy, regulatory requirements and data practice procedures. Identify data management requirements and drive the implementation of the requirements within area of responsibility. Perform root cause analysis to resolve data quality issues and implement solutions accordingly.Participate in data related projects and committees and provide required domain level expertise. Prevent wastage, and on an ongoing basis identify process improvements to contain and reduce costs. Ensure reference and master data management processes address uniformity, accuracy, accountability and governance of shared core entities used in operational process and analytics.
