Nutanix AHV Infrastructure Engineer, Midrand

Datacentrix Midrand is looking for a skilled Nutanix AHV Infrastructure Engineer with a strong networking background. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise Nutanix AHV environments, including virtual machine provisioning, infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrades, and migrations. The role also requires solid experience in networking technologies such as routing, switching, VLANs, wireless, and general LAN/WAN support within an enterprise infrastructure environment.

Qualification

• Matric qualification
• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology / Computer Science or related
• Nutanix certification (NCP or equivalent) advantageous
• VMware or Microsoft Hyper-V certification advantageous
• Valid driver’s license (advantageous)

Required Experience:

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Virtualisation technologies, including:
  • Nutanix (AHV)
  • VMware ESXi
• Strong background in general systems administration
• Solid experience with:
  • Backup technologies (e.g. Veeam or equivalent)
  • Microsoft Windows Server environments
  • Linux operating systems

• General maintenance for the software upgrades on the servers and storage during scheduled downtime
• Provisioning, installations and configurations of virtual machines on Nutanix AHV
• Perform Life Cycle management of all Nutanix Software
• Generating performance and monitoring reports, both ad-hoc and monthly
• As part of any projects, assist with migration of virtual machines to Nutanix AHV as required.
• Advanced troubleshooting on the Nutanix AHV
• Provide route cause analysis, should issues arise in the environment
• Updating of architectural and system documentation.
• Knowledge transfer to the client staff
