We are seeking a strategic SAP TM and EWM expert with 5 8 years of DevOps experience and proven expertise in logistics supply chain operations.

The ideal candidate possesses strong stakeholder management skills and a hands-on understanding of SAP Transportation Management, Sales and Distribution, Extended Warehouse Management, and production support responsibilities.

Demonstrable experience managing complex system integration, international best practice implementation, and technical leadership is essential.

A strong Agile and DevOps mindset with the ability to lead team leaders and manage complex global goods receipt and yard management systems is critical.

You will lead and manage the Goods Receipt and Yard Management product, consisting of administrative and physical goods receipts and steering inbound traffic sub-products for the global Group, driving strategic product direction and operational excellence.

• Position: Contract (01 July 2026 to 31 December 2028)
• Commencement: 01 July 2026
• Location: Hybrid (Midrand / Menlyn / Rosslyn / Home Office rotation)
• Team: DevOps - SAP Engineering
• Experience: 5 8 years of DevOps experience in commercial and/or retail end-user IT applications

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Mandatory Qualifications

• 5 8 years of DevOps Operations, configuration, or development experience in commercial and/or retail end-user IT applications.
• Relevant SAP Functional Certification in TM or EWM.

Technical & Professional Skills

SAP Functional & Config Experience

• SAP TM (Transportation Management)
• SAP SD (Sales and Distribution) OR SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management)
• Proven experience in Logistics Supply Chain and Operations
• Strong ability to understand and interpret business needs with an aptitude to move concepts through to proposal and successful implementation

Agile & DevOps

• Execution according to Agile Methodology, including active participation in Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives, and Sprint Planning.
• Daily utilization of the Agile Tool Chain as required by the feature team(s).
• Hands-on development debugging.

Stakeholder Management

• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Direct interaction with clients through meetings, calls, and emails.
• Seamless collaboration with consultants managing other SAP modules.

Soft Skills

• Flexibility to take on diverse tasks across the project lifecycle.
• Willing and able to travel internationally.
• A proactive approach to the software development and design process.

Advantageous Skills

• Level 1 process integration knowledge across multiple SAP Modules.
• Ability to speak German.

Role Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Design

• Understand business requirements, prepare AS-IS and TO-BE documents, and secure user sign-off for functional/technical design documentation.
• Proactively propose solutions to improve the support of new business processes.
• Provide business case input regarding potential benefits and risks.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Prepare test data for user stories.
• Execute and support testing activities (Unit testing, System Integration Testing [SIT], Regression testing, User Acceptance Testing [UAT], and Security testing).
• Analyze and scope end-user authorization roles.

Documentation & Training

• Prepare User Manuals and conduct training for business process owners.
• Update and maintain documentation whenever existing system functionality is modified.

Delivery & Support

• Prepare cut-over strategies, including data migration planning.
• Manage Go-Live preparation and provide post Go-Live support.
• Handle Change Management; present changes to the relevant Change Advisory Board (CAB).
• Receive, troubleshoot, resolve, and close operational and maintenance tickets within established SLAs.

Technical Leadership

• Deliver on complex outcomes requiring the integration of nuanced systems and processes.
• Model system architecture on international best practices and global benchmarks.
• Resolve escalated tasks requiring deep technical expertise where no senior authority is available for deferral.
• Lead, guide, and mentor team leaders who manage their own respective team members.
