Agricultrual Extension Officer, Tzaneen

The successful candidate will be based in Nkowankowa and must have a B/BSc Agric qualification and will be from the designated group. The candidate will be fully computer literate with good Excel skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record with at least 3-5 years’ experience in the following aspects:

Be fully conversant in Afrikaans and English due to the nature of our business;

Has excellent interpersonal relationship skills;

Has a proven record of problem‑solving skills;

Has good feedback and report writing skills.

Responsibilities

Conclude seasonal requirements with the Agric Manager.

Consult with nurseries on piquante pepper seedlings.

Schedule weekly farm visits to monitor crop progress.

Report progress on recruitment, production, and Farmer complaints.

Share operational info, technical advice, and compliance updates with growers.

Advise growers on land preparation, fertilizer and chemical spray programs, planting, irrigation, harvesting, packaging, and transport.

Ensure growers follow technical and safety standards.

Conduct farm visits, provide technical guidance, and document crop progress.

Handle grower concerns, complaints, and inquiries.

Organize grower meetings and study groups.

Promote compliance with the company’s Growers Manual and certification standards.

Knowledge on the cultivation of peppers will be an advantage.
