# Purchasing Manager– Raw Materials&Fragrances**Job Category:** Procurement Supply Chain**Job Type:** Full Time**Job Location:** Amanzimtoti**ABOUT THIS ROLE**Are you an experienced procurement professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for sourcing within a fast-paced FMCG environment?A well-established organisation within the personal care and manufacturing sector, based in Amanzimtoti, Durban, is seeking a Purchasing Manager– Raw Materials&Fragrances to manage and optimise procurement across their product portfolio. This role is ideal for someone with strong commercial acumen, supplier management experience, and the ability to work cross-functionally within a dynamic business.You will play a key role in ensuring cost-effective sourcing, maintaining supplier performance, and supporting product innovation and manufacturing operations.---**WHAT YOU WILL DO**Develop and implement sourcing strategies for raw materials and fragrances

Manage supplier relationships, including local and international suppliers

Negotiate pricing, contracts, and long-term supply agreements

Drive cost-saving initiatives and improve procurement efficiencies

Oversee the full purchasing cycle, from requisition to delivery and invoice resolution

Monitor stock levels and ensure alignment with production requirements

Collaborate with Production Planning to manage lead times and stock availability

Partner with R&D on new product development and material sourcing

Work closely with Quality Assurance on compliance, audits, and supplier performance

Analyse procurement data, pricing trends, and supplier performance metrics---**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Commerce, or related field

Minimum 5+ years’ managerial experience in procurement (FMCG / manufacturing preferred)

Experience sourcing raw materials, chemicals, or fragrances

Strong negotiation and supplier management experience

Experience working on ERP systems (Syspro advantageous)

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, analytics)

Strong commercial and financial acumen

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
