We are seeking a dynamic Underwriter to join the Garrun Group at our Mpumalanga branch. If you are hardworking, detail-oriented and bring a positive attitude with exceptional communication skills, we want you to join our team.

Proficient insurance knowledge is not required.

Responsibilities:

• Apply underwriting knowledge to enhance operational effectiveness and improve process efficiencies, supporting world-class service delivery.
• Operate within agreed service level agreements for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure strict adherence to binder agreements, as well as Garrun Group policies, procedures and processes.
• Assess, evaluate, and underwrite risk for both new and existing clients.
• Respond timeously and professionally to stakeholder queries, including insurers, clients, and client executives, in line with standard operating procedures.
• Manage the issuing of new policies, renewals, and policy endorsements.
• Negotiate renewal terms and prepare renewal documentation in collaboration with Client Executives.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date internal system records and compliance documentation at all times.
• Provide support on ad-hoc projects, including system enhancements and portfolio or book migrations.

Requirements:

• Fluent in English & Afrikaans (spoken, read & written)
• Computer literate – proficient in Excel, Word, MS Office, and PowerPoint
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong communication skills
• Self- motivated

Qualifications:

• Insurance related qualification- preferred
• RE 5 - preferred
• Class of Business - preferred
