A high-growth business in the payments and fintech space is looking for a hands-on Area Sales Manager to drive performance across a defined region. This is a leadership role focused on execution, team performance, and delivering consistent sales growth through strong management of Sales Managers and BDMs.
You will play a key role in translating strategy into action, improving market share, and building a high-performing sales culture on the ground.
Key responsibilities
- Drive regional sales growth and execute area-specific strategies.
- Lead, coach, and support Sales Managers and BDMs to achieve targets.
- Monitor performance, track KPIs, and implement corrective actions where needed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners.
- Support high-value client engagements and strategic accounts.
- Analyse sales trends, competitor activity, and market opportunities.
- Ensure strong account retention and identify cross-sell opportunities.
- Maintain accurate reporting on sales performance and customer insights.
- Ensure CRM discipline, data accuracy, and operational compliance.
- Take ownership of regional branding and visibility initiatives.
Leadership focus
- Set clear expectations and drive accountability across the team.
- Conduct regular performance and development conversations.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing team development.
- Create structure, rhythm, and consistency in team operations.
- Empower managers while maintaining performance standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Business, Sales, or related field preferred.
- 3 to 5 years' experience in sales leadership.
- Experience managing team leads or first-line managers.
- Strong exposure to field sales and regional execution.
- Experience in fintech, FMCG, retail, or distribution is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of CRM systems and sales processes.
- Data-driven with strong analytical ability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
