Field Technician Location: Witbank
Job Description A company within the access equipment and heavy machinery industry is seeking a skilled and hands-on Field Technician to join their technical team based in Mokopane. The successful candidate will be responsible for onsite servicing, maintenance, fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel-powered access equipment and related machinery within industrial, construction, and mining environments.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background with experience working on diesel-powered machinery, particularly equipment fitted with Deutz and Perkins engines. Previous experience within the access equipment, lifting machinery, or similar industry will be highly advantageous.

Minimum Requirements

• Trade qualification as a Millwright or Auto Electrician.
• Strong mechanical experience on diesel-powered equipment and machinery.
• Working at Heights certificate.
• Experience working with Deutz and Perkins engines.
• Hydraulic and electrical fault-finding experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently in field environments.
• Industry-related experience will be highly advantageous.
• Practical experience and technical knowledge will be considered more important than years of experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform onsite servicing and repairs on access equipment and heavy machinery.
• Conduct mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault finding.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Attend breakdowns and provide technical support to clients onsite.
• Complete service reports and maintenance documentation accurately.
• Ensure equipment operates according to safety and operational standards.
• Work safely while performing duties at heights and onsite locations.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance requirements.
