Senior Civil Engineer 5 year contract, Cape Town

Our client is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Experienced professional responsible for providing proven specialist/technical expertise, and leading a diverse team and resources
• including external suppliers to achieve development deliveries.
• Interpret user level requirements in order to develop system level requirements for lower level development tasks.
• Make technical and operational decisions independently of higher level authority based on sound knowledge of organisational processes, directives and guidelines.
• Mentor team members and transfer specific technical knowledge into the team.
• The Senior Civil Engineer/Senior Civil Engineering Technologist will be responsible for feasibility studies, design, supervising,monitoring, planning and controlling the development and implementation of the Civil and Structures departmental objectives on the project.
• Manage engineering projects, engineering consultants and other specialist consultants as and when required.
• Providing relevant information that allows the PMO to develop detail project schedules on a continuous basis

QUALIFICATIONS, MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualification:

• B. Tech with 13+ years experience, OR B.Eng. with 9+ years experience, OR M.Eng with 7+ years experience AND Registered with ECSA

Experience:

Experience in the planning, feasibility studies, design, supervising, monitoring, and controlling the development and implementation

of Civil Infrastructure Projects such as roads and storm water reticulation, water supply, sanitation and building projects.

Must have spent a minimum of three (3) years on site monitoring construction activities on site at a supervisory level

Knowledge:

• AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar
• ISO9001 Quality System
• NEC suite of contracts
