Responsibilities
Technical Delivery Management
Act as a line manager, mentoring staff, monitoring time‑keeping and conducting performance reviews. Support the allocated team’s technical development, delegating work and directing less experienced staff on technical tasks. Monitor and track project budgets for specific tasks. Technical Excellence
Prepare technical specification sections and complete feasibility studies, adding value to designs. Perform quality‑control reviews of design calculations and drawings, serving as Lead Verifier. Provide specialized input to studies and designs within the engineer’s area of expertise and act as an in‑house expert on specific technologies or processes.Develop solutions to complex issues using engineering methodologies and define new procedures when needed. Evaluate, select, and apply standard industry techniques for work assignments. Identify and develop processes that improve efficiency or quality. Engage with project technical teams to confirm approach and review deliverables within budget and scope.Liaise with authorities to obtain permits and approvals and discuss technical advances. Resolve technical issues involving conflicting requirements or complex coordination. Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical effort/man‑hours for projects. Support the design team with design tasks and perform hands‑on design when required.Assist with project bids and lead verification activities. Project Management
Act as Project Manager on small to medium discipline‑specific projects. Have a strong understanding of project delivery requirements and AECOM’s procedures. Use Earned Value Management to assess progress of design against budget. Client Relationship Management
Support business development and selling initiatives to expand work assignments, managing client relationships and expectations. Assist with proposals and participate in development of bids and technical write‑ups. Lead communication with clients to discuss scope, request information to support execution and respond to client comments on draft work.Present progress and clarify design principles to clients, senior leadership and other stakeholders. Interdisciplinary Coordination
Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure no design gaps and deliver fully coordinated design documents. Provide support to construction supervision teams. Qualifications
Bachelor of Science or Engineering from an accredited university. 12 years of experience in the built environment after obtaining an undergraduate degree. Professional registration as an Engineer with ECSA. Experience in HVAC, wet services, and fire engineering is an advantage.
