Role Purpose This role is responsible for developing and managing pricing strategies and risk models for both new and existing personal short‑term insurance business. The incumbent will ensure pricing supports portfolio profitability, sustainability, and growth while translating complex actuarial concepts into client‑friendly language and supporting the development of personal insurance products. The environment is high‑pressure, requiring high quality work under tight deadlines.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Business Sciences or Business Mathematics.
Minimum three years of actuarial modelling and pricing expertise within short‑term insurance.
Demonstrated ability to produce high quality work under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities Pricing&Modelling
Develop, maintain, and enhance market‑leading personal short‑term insurance pricing models.
Identify and incorporate data improvements and rating factor enhancements into pricing models.
Monitor model performance against actual experience and proactively address identified weaknesses.
Implement pricing strategies for new and existing business to support growth and profitability objectives.
Product Development&Governance
Support the development of innovative personal insurance products and maintain existing product sets.
Ensure strong governance is applied to all pricing development, model changes, and deployment processes.
Business Support
Provide data‑driven insights and analytical support to business stakeholders.
Communicate complex actuarial and pricing concepts clearly to non‑technical audiences.
Participate in the evaluation and review of new proposed processes and systems.
Demonstrate increasing knowledge of relevant actuarial disciplines and procedures and apply this knowledge to achieve business objectives.
Work with actuarial colleagues to continue to develop understanding of company operations, business objectives, and actuarial methodologies.
Assist in training less experienced actuarial personnel.
Demonstrate consistent progress toward a local actuarial qualification.
