Sales Manager, Durban

Minimum requirements for the role:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture or Natural Sciences is essential
• Agronomic knowledge of crops and at least 5 years' Agrochemical sales experience in the KwaZulu Natal region are compulsory
• Must have excellent communication skills (written, and verbal) in Afrikaans and English
• Crop protection chemical portfolio experience is required
• Must have knowledge of good farming practices
• Experience in Marketing will be an advantage

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Assisting in developing the company's sales strategy
• Developing relationships with strategic suppliers and working relationship with key personnel within those organisations
• Negotiating and liaising with suppliers on product availability, pricing and payment terms for the Company
• Generating and managing annual and monthly budgets for the Agents by product and by supplier
• Monitoring monthly sales figures for each Agent, compared with forecasts and budgets
• Managing the company's distribution system, including relationship with the transport contractor, ensuring effective collections from suppliers and delivery of products to the depots across KwaZulu Natal
• Managing 2 Buyers processing orders between the Agents and suppliers
• Monitoring stock levels on a monthly basis to ensure working capital optimisation, and managing redundant and slow-moving stock
• Studying market changes and development of competitors' prices and products and assessing their direct and indirect effect, supported by relevant analyses and reports
• Completing and submitting various tenders, and where relevant, assisting Agents with same
• Liaising with large key customers on a regular basis
• Compiling and understanding crop data for the region and conducting market share analysis
• Preparing and reporting on the Company's monthly sales figures with full variance analysis
• Preparing sales reports for Board meetings
