Senior Production Manager: Pinetown

Key Responsibilities:

1. Management & Leadership

• Develop and maintain departmental procedures and controls for safety, production, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Manage budgets, cost controls, and adequate human resources for efficient operations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop departmental managers, ensuring skills retention.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement risk reduction plans.

2. Safety & Compliance

• Oversee safety reporting and ensure adherence to PPE and company safety policies.
• Investigate incidents, analyze root causes, and implement preventative measures.

3. Production Operations

• Drive efficient planning, utilization, and reporting on production.
• Monitor, investigate, and resolve downtime causes.
• Prepare resources to achieve production targets.

4. Planning & Reporting

• Implement and oversee production planning and forecasting.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of production data.
• Monitor key metrics and performance areas.

5. Administration & Standards

• Ensure compliance with all company standards, procedures, and confidentiality.
• Maintain audit readiness and ensure payroll accuracy.
• Uphold housekeeping, environmental, and ISO14001 standards.

6. Budgeting & Cost Control

• Understand and manage departmental budgets, report on variances, and implement cost-saving initiatives.

7. Risk & Statutory Compliance

• Identify departmental risks and ensure legal compliance.
• Complete statutory reports and adhere to labour legislation.

8. Team & Performance

• Build, manage, and mentor a team, driving a culture of high performance.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualification in Production Management.

Experience:

• 10+ years in senior manufacturing management, preferably in automotive (OE or tier-one).
• Proven track record of team building, monitoring, and improving key deliverables.

Skills:

• Advanced SYSPRO, intermediate Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
• Strong leadership, coaching, organizational, and analytical abilities.
