VACANCY: UNDERWRITER / CLAIMS CONSULTANT (FAIS COMPLIANT)

Location: Hillcrest, KwaZulu-Natal

A well-established insurance brokerage based in Hillcrest is seeking an experienced and professional Underwriter / Claims Consultant to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and process short-term insurance claims from inception to settlement
• Liaise with clients, insurers, assessors, and service providers
• Provide underwriting support across personal and commercial lines
• Prepare quotations, policy amendments, renewals, and endorsements
• Ensure compliance with FAIS and all relevant industry regulations
• Deliver exceptional client service and maintain strong client relationships
• Assist clients with policy queries, claims updates, and risk-related advice
• Maintain accurate records and documentation on all client files

Minimum Requirements:

• Fully FAIS Compliant
• Relevant insurance qualification advantageous
• Minimum 3 years' experience in underwriting and claims administration
• Strong knowledge of short-term insurance products and processes
• Experience working with insurance systems and insurer portals
• Excellent communication and client service skills
• Strong administrative and organisational abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
