Personal Lines Underwriter, Germiston

The purpose of the role is to provide efficient and professional personal lines underwriting services to stakeholders, ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures, while supporting business growth by retaining existing clients and securing new business.

Key Responsibilities

Financial:

• Meet new business and binder fee targets.
• Retain existing clients and contribute to client growth.
• Support initiatives to minimise general expenses.

Client Management:

• Ensure all communications with clients, Account Executives, and insurers are accurate, timely, professional, and relevant.
• Build and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to achieving individual and company client satisfaction targets.

Business Processes:

• Adhere to company processes, service level agreements, quality assurance standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage personal lines processes, including:
  • General enquiries (cover, products, processes)
  • New business, renewals, endorsements, and re-broke
  • Risk assessments and client portfolio analysis
  • Obtaining and assessing insurer quotes
  • Policy rating and premium management
  • Arranging valuations and reinsurance
  • Upselling coverage where appropriate
  • Policy cancellations and refund processing
• Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is filed electronically and in hard copy.
• Report any suspected fraud, misrepresentation, or dishonesty.
• Participate in ad hoc projects as required.
