Main Tasks & Key Responsibilities:

Manage and control Express Sub-Sahara Africa Finance activities in the areas of controlling, financial
reporting and control, budgeting, accounting, Net Working Capital, investment, tax, and fiscal related
and risk management matters in accordance with the group policies and guidelines and local business
environment.
• Key senior member of the Express Sub-Saharan Management team, providing Financial
Management and Controlling service to the specific business area(s) of larger-scale / complexity
across several countries – multi-country scope
• Focus on ensuring the positive business impact of Finance within own area, Business partner of
Express Sub-Saharan CEO and leadership team: Provide financial support to CEO as well as assist him and his team to grow the business strategically via financial/business decision
support, business risk assessment, etc.
• Professional leader and line and budget manager for large Finance function involving multiple
finance specialism
• Manage cross-country diversity – leadership and stakeholder management of multiple senior
country and regional people
• Manage increased exposure to corporate matters (e.g. obtaining cash for investments)
• Influence wider financial strategy and policy and represent own business areas in wider
forums, with a significant impact on business strategy and performance
• Lead on major / most complex financial initiatives or issues, drawing on internal and external
specialist expertise as needed (business strategy, future acquisitions)
• Manage service relationship with the large business unit as a member of senior business team
• Develop controlling solutions that reflect best practices and work across multiple businesses
areas / functions / countries or clusters

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• Finance-related university degree with a focus on Finance/Accounting or equivalent qualification
• Qualified finance professional with a strong accounting background
• 8-10 years experience in a financial management role, including 5+ years of managerial
  experience in a large organization
• Previous CFO / Finance Director experience for a medium-size country entity or very senior
• Finance Managers with a broad Finance background, e.g. combination of a big-4 background
  and finance commercial roles with experience in dealing with Finance teams.
• Team leadership – large team
• International /cross-country experience
• Experience of financial transformation initiatives
• Proven experience dealing with senior stakeholders, being a member of the country/sub-
  regional senior management
