Logistics Manager

We are looking for a Logistics Manager to manage and direct all logistics, movement of raw material, collections and attend to minor technical maintenance and repairs at our various operational sites.

Reporting Line

The Logistics Manager position will be reporting to the Technical & Operations Executive.

Main Focus Areas

Fleet Management (including Staff)

• Trucks abattoirs
• Trailers abattoirs
• Future mortalities fleet small trucks
• Small vehicles bakkies
• Plant vehicles forklifts
• Farm vehicles tractors
• Fleet reports pointer, fuel, maintenance
• Time and attendance of all drivers
• Fleet services
• Drivers – training and policy adherence
• Diesel Mechanic – plan structured procedures to maintain logistics requirements
• Managing strict vehicle maintenance and servicing schedules to minimise downtime.
• Ensuring that a fleet of vehicles is operating in accordance with legislation and regulations.
• Monitoring Driver behaviour and taking disciplinary action where necessary.
• Maintaining accurate and detailed records of vehicle inspections and services
• Monitoring fleet costs and ensuring that they remain within budget..

Satellite Site Management (operational & staff)

• Site Management of; Silverton, Grainfield, Sovereign, Sangiro
• Management of the Abattoir infrastructures and relationships
• Management of daily comms for the Abattoirs & maintaining open communication with the Abattoirs
• Abattoirs employee weekly attendance
• Silverton weekly attendance
• Mortalities farm visits
• Operating and troubleshooting equipment at the various sites and attending to minor maintenance
• On time delivery of all materials – Collection and Delivery
• Create and implement machine maintenance standard operating procedures at the sites.

Warehouse and Inventory Management

• Stock management for all finished goods
• Central Rendering Facility stock taking on Monday's.
• Stock management of direct and indirect materials for all sites
• Maintain raw materials weights and recon weekly.
• Document finished goods for Central Rendering Facility
• Chemical stocks for Central Rendering Facility and abattoirs
• Finished goods stock reporting.
• Reporting on Daily and weekly raw material
• Weekly raw and finished goods planning.
• Warehouse control of finished products (commercial)
• Planning of loads/stock - raw material in and finished products out.
• Stock counts
• Production chemicals control (logistics)
