Are you a skilled finance professional looking to make a significant impact within a leading JSE retail organization? We are actively seeking a Cost Accountant to join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in optimizing our operational efficiency and maximizing profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement within our operations.

Costing: Utilize costing methods to accurately determine the cost of production of various products, ensuring cost accuracy and profitability.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts by providing insights into cost trends and variances, aligning with overall business objectives.

Inventory Management: Oversee inventory valuation, reconciliation, and control processes to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective inventory management.

Variance Analysis: Analyze and interpret variances between actual and budgeted costs, investigating reasons for discrepancies and recommending corrective actions as necessary.

Cost Control: Implement cost control measures to optimize operational efficiency, reduce production costs, and maximize profitability.

Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction initiatives, driving continuous improvement efforts across the company.

Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports to support decision-making by management, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and analysis related to costs, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and regulatory standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Similar qualifications and experience as a Cost Accountant are required.
- Ideal if qualified or studying towards CIMA certification.
