Description
Head of HR (iGaming) required in Johannesburg. Our client is a rapidly scaling force within the iGaming and Sports Betting industry— a sector driven by innovation, technology, customer experience, and relentless competition. As the business continues to expand, they are looking for a bold, commercially minded Head of HR to build, influence, and lead a people strategy capable of supporting serious growth.

This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who understands that modern HR is no longer administrative. It is strategic. It is operational. It is commercial. And in fast-moving industries like iGaming, it can be the difference between companies that grow and companies that dominate.

You will sit at the centre of the business, partnering with executive leadership, influencing key decisions, shaping culture, driving performance, and building an environment where top talent wants to stay, grow, and win.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

Leading the People Strategy

Develop and execute a forward-thinking HR strategy aligned to aggressive business growth objectives

Partner directly with C-suite and senior leadership on workforce planning, organisational design, succession planning, and business transformation

Drive a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and performance across the organisation

Build scalable HR frameworks capable of supporting rapid expansion across multiple business functions and territories

Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on all people-related matters

Building Exceptional Teams

Lead talent acquisition strategies designed to attract top-tier talent within highly competitive markets

Partner with hiring managers to identify critical skills gaps and future workforce requirements

Strengthen employer branding initiatives to position the company as an employer of choice within the iGaming and Sports Betting industry

Oversee onboarding strategies that create exceptional employee experiences from day one

Drive retention initiatives focused on engagement, development, and long-term growth

Creating a High-Performance Culture

Design and implement performance management frameworks that drive measurable results

Build leadership development programmes that strengthen management capability across the business

Create career development pathways that support internal mobility and succession planning

Champion employee wellbeing, engagement, and company culture initiatives

Foster an environment where high-performing individuals and teams can thrive

Driving HR Operations&Compliance

Ensure full compliance with South African labour legislation and HR best practices

Oversee HR governance, policies, procedures, and risk management frameworks

Manage employee relations matters including disciplinary processes, grievances, and conflict resolution

Drive HR analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the people function

Continuously improve HR systems, processes, and operational efficiencies

Leading Through Growth&Change

Support large-scale organisational change and transformation initiatives

Navigate the complexity of a fast-paced, evolving business environment

Build trust and credibility across all levels of the organisation

Lead and mentor the HR team while elevating overall HR capability

Bring fresh thinking, innovation, and strategic insight into the people function

What We’re Looking For:

Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role within iGaming, Sports Betting, Online Gaming, FinTech, Technology, Digital Entertainment, or another high-growth industry

Strong strategic HR capability combined with hands-on operational leadership

Experience scaling teams and building HR structures within rapidly growing businesses

Exceptional stakeholder management and executive-level communication skills

Strong understanding of South African labour law and HR compliance

Commercially astute with the ability to connect people strategy to business performance

Experience driving organisational development, culture transformation, and employee engagement initiatives

Confident operating in high-pressure, fast-moving environments where adaptability is critical

Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence at all levels

Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or related field

Additional HR certifications would be advantageous
