We’re pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for four Board of Directors, South Africa. parkrun is a health and wellbeing charity and our vision is to create a healthier and happier planet. Since our inception in 2004, parkrun has evolved into a global social movement with a vibrant and inclusive community at its core. As of 2025, we have recorded over 120-million instances of walking, jogging, running, and volunteering.Our mission is to transform lives by empowering people to be active, together and outdoors in their local community; and to protect parkrun for the generations to come. Each and every weekend, we deliver free, weekly timed events that people of all backgrounds can join. By tackling barriers to participation, we encourage communities to come together and embrace regular physical activity.Now in its 22nd year, parkrun spans over 2,800 locations in 23 countries with more than 11 million people registered, and counting. This is an opportunity to work with a committed, passionate team. As a board member you can play a pivotal role in helping us achieve our objectives. You will also help to drive parkrun’s ambitious five-year strategy. By becoming a Director on the parkrun South Africa Board, you will help shape the future of one of South Africa’s most inclusive health and wellbeing movements.Parkrun Directors will do more than just attend board meetings; as a Director your expertise will help us break down barriers to physical activity, and you will see the impact of your contribution reflected in communities every weekend. This is a non-executive, voluntary position. Board members typically meet quarterly. No committee work is required. Find out more
