Proposal Design Engineer, Randburg

Key Responsibilities

Develop preliminary and detailed solar PV and BESS system designs Interpret client requirements, tender documents, and technical specifications Prepare technical and commercial proposals for C&I and utility-scale projects Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies Perform system sizing, yield analysis, and financial modelling Compile BOQs, cost estimates, and pricing structures Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project teams Support the sales team during client engagements and presentationsEnsure compliance with relevant standards and regulations Optimise designs for cost, efficiency, and performance Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field 3–7 years’ experience in solar PV design and proposals Strong knowledge of PV systems, inverters, and BESS solutions Experience with design tools (e.g., Helioscope, PVsyst, AutoCAD) Understanding of grid integration and local regulationsStrong commercial awareness and costing experience Excellent communication and presentation skills Advantageous

Professional registration (ECSA or in progress) Experience with large-scale or C&I solar projects Familiarity with tendering processes and EPC environments
