The Role

Role Overview

An entry‑level to junior role supporting the development, configuration, and support of API and integration services usingIBM WebSphere DataPower. The role works under senior guidance and focuses on learning enterprise integration, API security, and middleware operations.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in configuringIBM DataPower services (MPGW, WSP, XML Firewall) Support REST and SOAP API integrations Apply basic security configurations (SSL/TLS, certificates, authentication) Develop simple transformations usingGatewayScript, XSLT, or XQuery Monitor and troubleshoot integration issues in non‑production and production environments Work closely with senior engineers and follow established integration standards

Required Technical Skills

Basic understanding ofIBM DataPower or API gateways REST and SOAP fundamentals XML / JSON message formats Introductory knowledge of GatewayScript, XSLT, or XQuery Awareness of API security concepts Willingness to learn troubleshooting and support tools

Nice to Have

Exposure to IBM API Connect Understanding of SOA or integration concepts Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift fundamentals Git-based source control and Jira

Experience & Profile

0–2 years’ experience in middleware, integration, or API development Internship, graduate, or junior enterprise exposure acceptable Strong learning mindset and attention to detail Good communication and teamwork skills
