IT Operations Engineer (Contract) - Gauteng/Hybrid - ISB5000913, Midrand

Our client is seeking an entry-level operations engineer who develops and maintains retail vehicle management platforms handling vehicle search, booking, and stock management services!

Build Java/Spring Boot applications with RESTful APIs, Docker, and Kubernetes while participating in agile stand-ups and gathering requirements from end users!

The ideal candidate is an eager developer with 1-2 years of experience and agile working background who brings expertise in Java/JEE and Spring Framework, demonstrates knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL) and unit testing tools, shows familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes and code versioning (Git), works well under direct supervision, and is ready to grow technical skills through hands-on development, system testing, and user training!

Qualifications / Experience

• Degree in IT or relevant experience
• 1 to 2+ years Development Experience
• Agile working experience (Mandatory)

• Knowledge: Basic job knowledge obtained though formal education with limited practical experience

• ORM tools (Hibernate advantageous)
• Spring Framework & Spring Boot
• Experience with Java application servers (Glassfish)
• Docker / Kubernetes (AWS / OpenShift advantageous)
• Code versioning (Git)
• Jenkins
• Any additional responsibilities assigned in the Agile Working Model (AWM) Charter
