Requirements

• Shipping experience with minimum 6 years in shipping or similar environment.
  
• Sales experience at least 2 years in ship’s agency sales.
  
• Education, tertiary qualification in maritime studies/import/export advantageous.
  
• Interpersonal skills, must be able to handle difficult clients and portray a corporate image.
  
• Teamwork is crucial, must be a team player.
  
• Computer literacy requirements e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email.
  
• Work under pressure, with minimal supervision.
  
• Admin work with high degree of accuracy.
  
• Valid Driver’s license.
  
• Time management, strong planning and organizing skills is a crucial requirement.
  

Duties 

• Minimum of 8 client visits per week.
  
• New business development, identify and secure new clients.
  
• Client retention by maintain existing relationships.
  
• Filing and checking of SQs.
  
• Freight applications: Apply for rates, routings, feeder space, waivers, etc.
  
• Provide customers with freight rate quotations.
  
• Provide customer support, i.e. handling of shipment and service queries if required.
  
• Liaise with Principal on BIZ matters.
  
• Share guidelines, notices, sailing schedules.
  
• Database updates.
  
• Client entertainment, organize functions and entertainment.
  
• Work on tenders and freight contracts negotiations.
